Takes a broad view of the brain and mind science, spanning neurosciences, philosophy,
and psychology. Includes an impressive array of contributors and is a great place to gain insight
and information for the formulation of research questions.
- The concise Corsini encyclopedia of psychology and behavioral science. 2004. Ref 150.3 C74C (also available as e-book)
Each topical entry has a list of suggested readings and helpful cross-references. Covers every
major branch of modern psychology: applied, clinical, cognitive, developmental, educational, forensic,
industrial, physiological, social, and theoretical.
- Encyclopedia of cognitive science. 2003. 4 volumes. Ref 153 En19
Compiles essays from all disciplines that contribute to the field of cognitive science, including
psychology, philosophy, linguistics, computer science, and neuroscience, as well as related areas in
education, economics, evolutionary biology, and anthropology. Covers all study of the mind and brain-human, animal, or artificial.
- Encyclopedia of psychology. 2000. 8 volumes. Ref 150.3 En19k
With over 1400 informative entries, this encyclopedia is an important resource for the study of psychology.
- Baker encyclopedia of psychology and counseling. 1999. Ref 150.3 B15B
Providing a biblical view of the study of psychology, the Baker encyclopedia fills a niche
focusing on major concepts, theories, and therapies.
- Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (DSM-IV), 4th ed. 1994. Ref 616.89 D54 1994
Significant in the diagnosing of psychiatric illnesses, this scientific manual (900+ pages) has been a standard
resource for medical professionals for the past twenty years.

- Encyclopedia of Psychology
Organized by the Psych department at Jacksonville State University, this encyclopedia has two main features: 1)
original articles produced by authoritative researchers and practitioners; and 2) a database of web sites offering information
on scientific psychology.
- Current Research in Social Psychology
Very simple format, yet a peer-reviewed online journal that publishes articles on current issues in social psychology.
- Web Resources by Psychology Area
Hosted by the Social Psychology Network, this page provides subject access to web resources, including
the areas of clinical psych, cognition and perception, community, cultural, developmental, personality, and social psych, etc.
- Narramore Christian Foundation (NCF): Psychology for Living
Combining the practical side of psychology with our Christian worldview, this site offers both web and other resources
for the practicing psychologist. Includes a page with several "Psychological Articles" divided up into
categories for Relationships, Psychological Disorders, and Emotions and Personality.
- Christian Psychology Resources
Provides links to resources by topic within psychology, including grief and loss, marriage and family, mental health,
alcohol and drug, etc. Another useful combination of Christian perspectives with practical psychology.
- PsychScholar
Provides links to online journals, sources for data and research, study aids, online demonstrations and
tutorials, as well as other general Internet resources. Excellent place to begin research in psychology.
